It isn't. It was once upon a time with Aryabhat. After that our engineers creativity worked fantastic not in India, but in US. Which is how the chip was invented. •What if only speed is? Speed? We're 15 years behind China. •What if all we could do was improvise and not create? We don't even improvise. Unless it is to save costs or get things done within our system. (for eg. 'saving' taxes) •What if the reason behind out failures was waning of the genes over generations? Nopes. The rich keep getting richer and the poor poorer. Those who can don't (care). Those who do can't (do anything because of the system). •What if we as a race did not innovate fast enough? We'll keep getting left behind as we have since Independence. •What if we are looking at the wrong problem altogether: I think we know our problems. I highly doubt we can overcome them in one lifetime. And a very Happy Independence Day to you. Let me give this a try…
